We have just had enough rain to turn the very short grass green (joy oh joy to the sad soul!) but not enough to soften the hooves of the draught horses for me to attend to their hooves. My beautiful Nellie calmly and patiently stands in rubber feed buckets 'soaking' her hooves to soften them for me to work with. And of course what would a photo be without some of the other members of the menagerie in in? PK is proudly displaying his magnificent plumage in the background whilst the young chooks are certain that there must be feed to be had in the feed buckets!
What greater way to conclude a busy day than to behold such a glorious summer sky. Note the greenness of the lawn....yes! we have had wonderful rain; summer crops are beginning to thrive and the days a full of rewarding chores as I begin to harvest their crop and preserving them for the winter months.
